MINUTES-NEW DOSEY TOWN BOARD REGULAR MEETING-NOV. 8, 2010

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chair Dave Fornengo.  Also present were Supervisors Don Mishler and Dave Baker and Clerk Fran Levings.  Absent was Treasurer Vicki Elliott.

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Don Mishler, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of Oct. 13, 2010, as printed.  Carried.

Clerk Fran Levings presented the Treasurer’s Report. (Attached to file copy of these minutes).  She also distributed a list of those persons who have paid for private driveway plowing this year. Fund balances are:  General Fund-$4833.15, Road & Bridge Fund-$9445.08, Cemetery/Landscaping Fund-$540.50, Fire Protection Fund-$150.68, Fire Hall Fund-$125.45, Cartway Fund-$2428.40 and Savings Account-$7069.82.  CD balance is $49,914.01.  Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Dave Baker, to accept the Treasurer’s Report.  Carried.

Clerk Fran Levings presented the Claim List and the Net Payroll List for approval.  (Attached to file copy of these minutes).  Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Dave Baker, to pay these bills.  Carried.

CLERK’S REPORT:

  1. Renewal form from the U.S. Surplus company was presented.  Consensus of the Board was to NOT renew our membership at this time.
  2. Clerk presented copy of letter sent to Arna Township asking for reimbursement for brushing done on Hay Creek Road in their township.
  3. Clerk presented an ad from Hakanson-Anderson Co. offering to assist with sign reflectivity requirements.  Letter will be filed.
  4. Mail-in voting for Nov. 2nd resulted in a 75 % voter turnout.

NO ZONING REPORT

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Sign-off on the 2010 Road Work order was tabled until the Dec. meeting.
  2. Road Brushing has been completed.
  3. Wes Cemenski will be offered the position of grader operator and Jared Behm has accepted the position of snow plow truck operator.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Report on the Pine County Township Officers Meeting- Hinckley- Oct. 23rd.  Clerk Levings reported that Pine County has an annual budget of $33 million with $13 million being raised by taxes and $20 million coming from state and federal governments. All Squad cars now have de-fibulators.  Pine County will cut $1 million in public employees by consolidating departments and asking for pay freezes.  The Sheriff’s department now has mandatory electronic ticketing and 13 squad cars now have digital cameras.  The Minnesota Ass’n of Townships will ask each township to contribute $25 towards expenses on the National Conference to be held in MN in 2011.
  2. Chair Fornengo reported that he is in contact with a company who will remove the elm tree from the lane by William West’s home and he will seek an estimate.
  3. The improvement on the Matt Lourey Trail (formerly Munger Trail) is scheduled for 2011.  Supervisor Baker reported on a conversation with Forester Greg Beck about granting permission to TNT to cut trees along the ditch.
