Meeting called to order at 5:31 PM by Chair David Fornengo. Present were the following: Chair David Fornengo, Supervisor Anthony Fornengo, Treasurer Wayne Hessler, and Clerk Kathleen Krejci. Supervisor Jason Canesi called in for the meeting. No public present.

AGENDA AND MINUTES
- Motion by Jason Canesi, second by Anthony Fornengo to approve the December 9th, 2025 agenda. (Carried 3-0)
- Motion by Jason Canesi, second by Anthony Fornengo to approve the minutes from November 11th, 2025 Town Board meeting. (Carried 3-0).
TREASURER’S REPORT
- Balance at Northview Bank is $48,770.52 in checking account.
- Motion by David Fornengo, second by Anthony Fornengo to approve the Treasurer’s Report. (Carried 3-0).
CLAIMS & PAYROLL
- Clerk Kathleen Krejci prepared the Claims and Payroll list for approval
- Motion by David Fornengo, second by Anthony Fornengo to pay Claims and Payroll (Carried 3-0)
CLERK’S REPORT
- MAT Clerk/Treasurer Training was on November 20th – Kathleen attended and learned a lot.
- Paid Leave to take effect on January 1st to give paid time off for illness, birth, or caring for a loved one. To qualify, an employee must have been paid $3,900 annually. Paid leave is funded entirely by the employee and the Township. New Dosey Township’s rate is 0.66% of wages and the Township can deduct up to 0.44% of employee wages. David Fornengo moved that the Township pay the full premium (0.66% of employee and officer wages). Kathleen will write up a resolution for this. A Paid Leave informational poster for township employees is located on the cork board in the back of town hall.
- Notice of Filing for the March 2026 Township Election submitted to the North Pine County News and posted to the New Dosey Township website and outdoor announcement board.
- Open positions: Supervisor (3-year) and Clerk (2-year)
- Anyone interested in filling these positions should contact Kathleen at katienewdosey@outlook.com to file between December 30th-January 13th. The fee to file is $2.
- Town board monthly meeting schedule for 2026 established and is posted on the website and on the outdoor announcement board
- Township’s Priorities in the Governor’s Capital Budget Survey forwarded to Officers to complete – David has already completed this
- MATIT Workers Compensation Renewal – The invoice is due January 1st (check signed during meeting) and the Audit is due February 15th.
- Big CTAS Update needs to be installed on laptops – Kathleen has completed this. Wayne will complete this soon.
- Report of Outstanding Indebtedness is due to Pine County – New Dosey Township doesn’t have any outstanding bonds. The only debts that the township has is the grader loan. Kathleen will contact the Pine County Auditor to see if that’s needed on the report or not.
- Motion by David Fornengo, second by Anthony Fornengo to approve the Clerk’s Report. (Carried 3-0).
OLD BUSINESS:
- Road Work
- Culvert replacements will need to wait until spring. Jason Fornengo has been hired to complete this.
- Dead End sign on Little Ox still needs to be installed, it’s currently in Dave’s truck.
- Grader annual maintenance is complete. Cutting edges have been touched up and the vehicle has been cleaned. Circulating fan and lightbulbs have been purchased and will be installed.
- Town Hall Maintenance
- Water test – Plan to get water test from office in Sandstone. Well water testing kits can be picked up at the Sandstone office. Samples must be collected after 12pm on Tuesday and returned the same day by 4:30pm.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Sign at New Dosey Cemetery needs replaced, the posts are rotten. David and Jason Fornengo removed the old sign. Kathleen contacted 3 sign companies and received 1 quote back from Sota Signs and Graphics in Duluth for a 3’x6’x 6mm single-sided polymetal sign panel complete 3M color vinyl graphics for $587.53. Motion by Jason Canesi, second by David Fornengo to move forward with this (Carried 3-0).
- Hay Creek Road South – Trees and brush are obstructing the plow truck due to overhanging growth. Need to reach out to Arna Township to see if they want to go in on a joint project to clear the right away on this road. David will reach out to the property owners as well. Will use Fornengo Forest Products for this project. Hoping to get it completed this winter.
- Anthony Fornengo (Supervisor) plans to resign next month and Jason Fornengo will be appointed to fill the remainder of his term.
- Garbage Board – No updates
- Hospital Board – No updates
