Meeting called to order at 5:31 PM by Chair Dave Fornengo.  Present were the following: Supervisor Jason Canesi, Supervisor Anthony Fornengo, Treasurer Wayne Hessler, Clerk Katie Krejci along with Norm and Joni Dustin from the public.

Pledge of Allegiance: Done

Public Input: Norm and Joni thanked the board for putting in a culvert on Hay Creek Road 3 years ago as it has really improved the road. Minimum Maintenance Road sign on Squibb Creek and Hay Creek has been missing – can be replaced by Township, if desired (declined by the public). This road is included in Township snow plowing. Norm and Joni also expressed thanks for getting the Township website up to date.

AGENDA AND MINUTES

• Motion by Jason Canesi, second by Anthony Fornengo, to approve the minutes from June 10th, 2025 Town Board meeting. (Carried 3-0).

TREASURER’S REPORT

• Balance at Northview Bank is $105,690.33 in checking account
• Wayne to contact Northview Bank to re-establish his online account
• Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi, to approve the Treasurer’s Report (Carried 3-0).

CLAIMS & PAYROLL

• Clerk Katie Krejci prepared the Claims and Payroll list for approval
• Motion by Anthony Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to pay Claims and Payroll (Carried 3-0)

CLERK’S REPORT

• Plan to transfer Clerk’s CTAS records over to Treasurer’s CTAS once everything is fully balanced and up to date. Motion by Jason Canesi, second by Anthony Fornengo to approve this (Carried 3-0)
• Amazon Prime Business Account – Fully enrolled, Katie (Clerk) is currently the only account holder. Other board members can be added in the future, if needed.
• Quarterly 941s – Submitted
• Unemployment Insurance and MN Paid Leave Law – Needs to be filed quarterly, working on gaining access to our account so this can be completed. Dave Fornengo signed form to grant access.
• 2025-2026 Consolidated Liability Coverage for Township has been renewed. Documentation filed.
• Propane Summer Special – Board members to assess how full the tank is and will call for refill if needed
• The Pine County History Museum & Event Center is hosting a Veteran’s Evergreen Memorial Scenic Byway Rededication Event in Askov on Saturday, July 26^th at 2pm
• Updates from MAT June 2025 Newsletter:
  • MAT Annual Conference (December 11-13)
  • MAT District Meeting (August 19^th)
  • Legislative and Research Committee Event (September 12^th)
  • *Town board will not attend, prioritize short courses this fall

OLD BUSINESS:

• Starlink for Town Hall – Has been delivered and account is set up, just needs to be installed. Plan to cancel AT&T once working.
• Road Work – Hasn’t started yet. Dave Fornengo contacted Denny Jensen who has a gravel pit East of Askov and was able to secure a better price for the Township compared to Hopkins Sand & Gravel. Still working on details. Dave to call about getting a culvert and will speak to Jason Fornengo about doing the culvert work.
• DNR Bridge Construction x 2 on Matthew Lourey State Trail at Keene Creek North and South – Still under construction and should be completed by end of summer. Trail remains closed.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Garbage Board – Dave Fornengo to attend next meeting
• Road Work – Dave Fornengo and Jason Fornengo fixed the Creekview Road culverts that were affected by beaver activity
• Grader – Needs serviced this fall (likely September), Dave Fornengo will call and schedule this.
