Also in attendance from the public were Don Eddy, John Nelson, Bob Dufour, Robin Fornengo, Anthony Fornengo, Peggy Coveau, and Don Eddy.

John Nelson asked for a follow-up regarding the uninhabitable structure(s) on nearby properties. David Fornengo reports that he filed a report with Kelly Schroeder at Pine County a few weeks ago.

CLERK’S REPORT

• Shared Snow Plowing of Hay Creek South with Arna Township – The claim has been mailed to their Clerk. Still awaiting payment.
• Clerk/Head Judge Training on June 23^rd – Kathleen attended and learned a lot about election processes. The upcoming General Election is a mail-in ballot, but this information will be helpful for the upcoming March Township election in 2027.
• Clerk/Treasurer Training for Pine County on June 25^th – Kathleen attended and it was helpful to attend a local event and get to know others from neighboring townships. There was discussion about MN Paid Leave and learned that townships that opted to cover the full payment will need to file a W4 form as this is considered as a benefit. Also learned that New Dosey Township needs a second Paid Leave account for elected officials who receive Paid Leave benefits only as they are not eligible for UI, so Kathleen opened a second account and will need to go back through previous quarters to correct that.
• A Township Emergency Plan List was brought up at the last meeting. No record of this found on the laptop. Dave states he’ll see if he can find any old records of this so it can be updated. May consider having it out at the upcoming Township Summer Party.
• MATIT Consolidated Liability Coverage Renewal is due for 2026-2027. Our policy was reviewed by the board and all looks good, except some listings appear to be duplicates. Kathleen will inquire about those line items with MATIT.
• Upcoming Events:
  • August District Meeting on Thursday, August 6^th at Anoka Ramsey Community College
  • MAT Legislative and Research Committee on September 15^th in St. Michael
  • State General Election on November 3^rd. New Dosey Township is a mail-in ballot jurisdiction. Office that will be on the ballot for our jurisdiction is the North Pine Association Hospital District – District at Large Seat. Notice of filing has been posted and is open through July 28th. Anyone who is interested in filing for this position can make an appointment with the Clerk at katienewdosey@outlook.com. The filing fee is $2. Election judges have been notified of in-person trainings on July 20^th, July 29^th, and August 5^th. Online training is also available.
  • MAT Annual Conference on December 10^th-12^th at Grand View Lodge

OLD BUSINESS

• Township Summer Party will be on August 8^th from 12-3pm. Peggy and Robin are willing to help plan and prepare for the party. Paper products have already been purchased to make clean-up easy. Since it’s a potluck event, there’s no need to establish a formal budget for the party, but in agreement that the Township should provide water, water-flavoring packets, coffee, and a sheet cake. Jason Canesi plans to bring 14 lbs of sloppy joes and buns. Wayne will bring cowboy beans. John offered to bring 2 dozen brats and 2 dozen burgers if someone else can bring the buns. Kathleen will bring the buns. Jason Canesi will bring some yard games and anyone else who has some is encouraged to bring them along. Wayne is in charge of music. Dave will look into ice delivery for the beverages. Peggy asked if the party can be shared with those beyond the township and everyone agreed that would be fine.
• Town Hall Renovation Update – We have 2 invoices left, which will be paid today: Service Master and the water filtration system. Construction is now complete, so Kathleen will close out the claim with MATIT to then receive the final reimbursement check of $14,164.10. New tables and chairs were delivered last week to replace the ones damaged by the flood.
• ROAD WORK – Now that the town hall construction is complete and we’ve received the RPS Settlement from Pine County, a budget needs to be set for road work. The priority will be finishing up Kingsdale Rd from last year and some culvert replacements. Decision made to wait until Jason Fornengo can be in attendance to make a decision on this since brushing is needed as well.
• Grader maintenance – Still holding off on repairs, but need to get this done soon.
• Plow truck maintenance – Needs to be serviced before winter sometime.

NEW BUSINESS

• Garbage Board – No updates. Next meeting is on July 28^th. One of the supervisors will attend.
• Hospital Board – Don Eddy attended the last meeting and has information on grants for education.

Anything else to come to the board? John Fornengo complemented Jason Canesi on the cabinet work in the kitchen of the town hall.
