MINUTES- NEW DOSEY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF REVIEW- APRIL 9, 2018
Meeting called to order at 11 am by Chair Dave Fornengo. Also present were Supervisors Dave Baker and Jason Fornengo, Clerk Fran Levings, Pine County Assessor Kelly Schroeder, Township Assessor Bob Brewster, Beverly Carlin and Richard Nelson.
Pine County Assessor Kelly Schroeder explained the purpose of the meeting. This is for the 2019 property evaluation. There were 5 New Dosey sales in 2017 and assessor valuation rates are based on those sales.
Richard “Snuffy” Nelson was first. Parcel # R20.0118.000 – Doyle Lane. Mr. Nelson wanted to confirm that the assessors knew that he had taken his old cabin down. Assessor Schroeder responded that Mr. Nelson’s valuation had changed from $63,000 to $62,000.
Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to accept the Assessor’s change. Carried.
Beverly Carlin was second. Parcel # R20.0425.000. 61444 Rutabaga Road. Ms. Carlin wanted to confirm that the assessor’s knew that her barn is now down. Assessor Brewster responded that the barn sized 34×66 ft. was deleted.
Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Dave Baker, to accept the Assessor’s confirmation of the fact. Carried.
Kathy and Scott Walberg had a concern that was settled via a phone conversation. Parcel # R20.0348.000. Loggers Lane. They questioned why the valuation had gone up by $10,000. Assessor Brewster took 3 feet off the width of the cabin and changed “shed” to “outhouse” thus dropping the valuation from $95,000 to $90,000. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Dave Baker, to accept the Assessor’s change. Carried.
Lastly, Geraldine Doyle deceased, was represented by her son in a phone conversation with Assessor Brewster. Parcel # R20.0391.000. Doyle Lane. Assessor Brewster changed the valuation from $23,600 to $21,200. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to accept this change by the Assessor. Carried.
