NEW DOSEY BOARD OF REORGANIZATION MEETING MINUTES – APRIL 13th, 2026

Meeting called to order at approximately 6:03 PM by Chair David Fornengo. Present were Chair David Fornengo, Supervisor Jason Canesi, Treasurer Wayne Hessler, and Clerk Kathleen Krejci. Also in attendance from the public were Anthony Fornengo, Robin Fornengo, and Jason Fornengo.

APPROVE THE AGENDA

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to approve the Board of Reorganization agenda. (Carried)

ELECT A CHAIR and VICE CHAIR

  • Motion by Jason Canesi to elect David Fornengo as Chair (Carried).
  • Motion by David Fornengo to elect Jason Canesi as Vice Chair (Carried)

ADOPT SCHEDULE OF REGULAR BOARD MEETINGS

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to continue with second Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm (Carried)

DESIGNATE AN OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to continue to use North Pine County News (Carried)

SET COMPENSATION FOR TOWN OFFICERS/EMPLOYEES

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to eliminate the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commissioner positions (Carried)
  • Motion by Jason Canesi, second by David Fornengo to increase housekeeping to $35/hour (Carried)
  • Motion by Jason Canesi, second by David Fornengo to increase operators to $45/hour (Carried)

DESIGNATE POSTING PLACES

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to designate the Township Website and Outdoor Poster Board as posting places (Carried)

DESIGNATE A BANK AS THE TOWNSHIP DEPOSITORY

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to continue to use Northview Bank as the township depository (Carried)

CONSIDER CONFLICT OF INTEREST ISSUES

  • Lawn mower rental – David Fornengo signed the conflict of interest form for renting his lawn mower to the township for summer use at the town hall and cemetery
  • Brushing – Jason Fornengo signed the conflict of interest form for providing contracted brushing services for the township as a board member

REVIEW AND AMEND BOARD POLICIES, IF NEEDED

  • Motion by David Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to continue with resident driveway snowplowing at $120/driveway (Carried)

REVIEW INSURANCE POLICIES

  • Increase contents limit with MATIT? No changes at this time.
