MINUTES – NEW DOSEY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF RE-ORGANIZATION MEETING – MARCH 21st, 2022

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by Dave Fornengo. Present were Supervisor’s Dave Baker and Re-Elected Anthony Fornengo, and Re-Elected Clerk Tamara Miritello. Absent were Wayne Hessler

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the agenda.

Anthony Fornengo took the Oath of Office for a 3-year term as Supervisor. 

Tamara Miritello took the Oath of Office for a 2-year term as Clerk.

Motion by Dave Baker, second by AJ Fornengo, to elect Dave Fornengo as Chair of the Board for 1 year.

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to elect Anthony Fornengo as Vice-Chair of the Board for 1 year.

Anything else for the good of the cause?

  1. Road Review will be set at April Regular Board meeting.

OLD BUISNESS

  1. Road Work
    1. Had someone look over grader and will take care of the tank heater during our Spring service appointment.
    1. Plow crew made the decision not to service roads or drives due to the ice cover under the snow. They felt like it would’ve created more issues with no traction.
  2. Someone has inquired about a fuel tank and would like to purchase if we no longer use. Board approved the sale.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. NPAHD Report – Fran Levings
    1. In conjunction with the Hospital District, Pine Technical Institute will be offering in April FREE Classes on Emergency Responder Training.  The Hospital District will then pay for all the books and workbooks, the certificate fee, and the EMR bag with startup equipment.  The Hospital District will also pay each person who takes the training $250 after their first year as a 1st Responder and another $250 after their second year. The total cost for this will be $760/trainee. Pine Tech has limited the class size to 15. The Hospital District has identified an acute need for first Responders with the townships and cities of the district.  Only residents of the Hospital District will qualify for this program.

NEW DOSEY TOWNSHIP ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES – MARCH 8TH, 2022

Meeting called to order at 8:15PM by Fran Levings. Also present were Dave Fornengo, Dave Baker, Anthony Fornengo, Wayne Hessler, Beverly Carlin, Tamara Miritello, and Scott Walberg.

Head Judge Beverly Carlin read the results of the Board of Canvas.  Anthony Fornengo received 10 votes for a 3 – year term as Supervisor and was declared elected to a 3 – year term as Supervisor. Tamara Miritello received 11 votes for a 2-year term as Clerk as was declared elected to a 2-year term as Treasurer.

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to have Fran Levings be the moderator. Carried

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the Agenda. Carried.

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to approve the Minutes of the 2021 Annual Meeting. Carried

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Dave Baker, to table Board of Audit Report until Friday March 18th, 2022. Carried

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Anthony Fornengo, to table the Treasurer’s Report as system is being worked on by MAT trainer. Carried

Dave Fornengo, Dave Baker and AJ Fornengo agreed to wait to see how 2022 Spring goes before we continue on summer season roadwork plan along with roadside brushing. We have received positive feedback on road management for the 2021 year.

Dave Baker, Representative to the Tri-Township Disposal District Board, explained that The Board has been working with Pine County to come up with a way to funds to the budget as they would like to give the two employees a raise.  To do so, they are anticipating a raise on all improved parcels on 2022 tax statements.

GENERAL DISCUSSION OF ITEMS OF CONCERN TO THE VOTERS:

  1. When will minutes be available on website – Clerk Tammy will get them done as soon as she is able but for sure by the next meeting.

Motion by Fran Levings, second by Dave Baker, to continue to using the Pine County Courier, Askov American and Evergreen Shopper for township public notices. Carried

Motion by Fran Levings, second by Beverly Carlin, to continue using Northview Bank, Sandstone for the township depository. Carried

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to hold the 2023 Township Annual Meeting on March 14th, 2022 @8:15pm. Carried

Motion by Wayne Hessler, second by Tamara Miritello, to adjourn at 8:47pm. Carried
