MINUTES-NEW DOSEY TOWN BOARD REGULAR MEETING-FEBRUARY 12, 2020
Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm by Chair Dave Fornengo. Also present were Supervisors Anthony J.
Fornengo and Jason Fornengo, Clerk Fran Levings, Treasurer Wayne Hessler,
Deputy Clerk Tamara Miritello, Dave Baker and Calen Miritello-Baughn.
There was no public input.
Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to approve the Agenda
after “Report- Tri-Township Disposal District” under New Business. Carried (3-0).
Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to approve the Minutes
of the January 14, 2020, meeting.
Carried (3-0).
Motion by Jason Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to approve the Minutes
of the Cartway Hearing on January 31, 2020.
Carried (3-0).

CLERK’S REPORT:
Township Election-March 10- (4-8 pm)
- Motion by Dave
Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to appoint the following Election Judges-
Beverly Carlin (Head Judge), Agnes Sexton & Jan Streiff. Carried (3-0).
- Motion by Dave
Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to appoint the same 3 judges to be the Absentee
Ballot Board. Carried (3-0).
- Motion by Dave
Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to appoint the following to the Board of
Canvass- AJ Fornengo, Jason Fornengo and Don Mishler. This Board must consist of 2 supervisors and
a member of the public and will re-count the votes after the judges have
counted them. Motion carried (3-0).
ZONING REPORT:
Zoning Administrator Fran Levings reported to the Board that the
Planning Commission met on Feb. 7 and voted 2-0 to Opt-in to the Pine County
Zoning Ordinance. She had numerous
conversations/emails with Pine County Zoning Officer Caleb Anderson which
reassured her that zoning administration would be thorough and fair by going with
the county. The Board, upon motion by Dave Fornengo and seconded by
Jason Fornengo, approved Resolution # 30 which authorizes the township to
opt-in to the Pine County Zoning Ordinance.
Carried (3-0).
OLD BUSINESS:
- NPAHD Report-
Representative Fran Levings distributed a handout delineating the purpose,
history, functions and activities of the Hospital District during the past few
years. The handout also includes some
Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Hospital District. Copies are available at the town hall.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Tri-Township Disposal District Report-
Representative Dave Baker reported that the Disposal District has borrowed
$10,000 to make it through 2020. They
have been unable to sell the old garbage truck and are using it for
back-up. The Disposal District Board
plans to raise the levy to $40/parcel in July.
This will take effect in 2021.
ANYTHING ELSE TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD?
The town hall currently does not have water. Chair Fornengo spent 2 hours recently trying
to solve the problem. He reported that a
pipe down in the ground is frozen and the problem cannot be solved until the
ground has thawed. In the meantime, he
will order a heated Port a Potty to be temporarily installed at the town hall.
