MINUTES-NEW DOSEY TOWN BOARD REGULAR MEETING-MAY 8, 2
Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm by Chair Dave
Fornengo. Also present were Supervisors
Anthony J. Fornengo and Jason Fornengo, Treasurer Mandy Fornengo, Clerk Fran
Levings, Deputy Clerk Tamara Miritello, Ronnie Mosser, Don Schirmer, Jerry
Kujawa, Deloris Schirmer and Richard Nelson.
PUBLIC INPUT:
- Mr. Kujawa and Mr. Nelson inquired about road work on Doyle Lane. Chair Fornengo said that Doyle Lane was one of the roads prioritized for work this summer.
- Mr. Schirmer said he knew the Turn-Around on Squib Creek Drive was established to for school buses, but that his mother had never given permission for this. She claims it is on her property. She has maintained for years that she does not want this Turn-Around there. She and her son propose that Squib Creek Drive be extended East for one-half mile and a cul-de-sac be put at the end of it. Chair Fornengo said this issue would be discussed further under New Business.
Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to
approve the Agenda. Carried (3-0).
Motion by Jason Fornengo, second by AJ Fornengo, to
approve the Minutes of the Board of Review meeting of April 8, 2019. Carried (3-0).
Motion by AJ Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to
approve the Minutes of the Board meeting of April 10, 2019. Carried (3-0).

Report and the Cash Control Statement.

CLERK’S REPORT:
- Thank-you letter received from the Old School
Arts Center for the $250 donation.
- Some metal items
on the town grounds that need to be removed.
AJ Fornengo said he will take care of it.
OLD BUSINESS:
- The Supervisors signed off on the 2019 Road
Work order that prioritized Creekview Lane, Little Ox Creek Road and Doyle Lane
for work this this year.
- Road work
proposals were received from Ed Proffit, Roberts Excavating and Rydberg. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by AJ
Fornengo, to hire Ed Proffit for pit-run work and Rydberg for Class 5
work. They both submitted the most
cost-effective proposals.
- Motion by Dave
Fornengo, second by Jason Fornango, to hire Tamara Miritello to be the
lawnmower operator this year. Carried
(3-0). She will be paid $25/hour and
will receive $25/month for gas and $50/month for leasing her mower to the
township.
- The Board was
notified by Greg Beck that the .58 acres of land that the township purchased
was purchased from a private individual, not Pine County. Therefore, the town can sell the property.
Clerk Levings will research the procedure on this.
- NPAHD Report-
Levings reported that the Hospital District is in negotiations to underwrite a
mental health therapist at the Gateway Clinic in Sandstone. The District also hosted an event at the
All-Time Fitness Center in Sandstone on May 4.
NEW BUSINESS:
- By consensus, the
Board set the 2020 Levy Distribution at the following levels- General Fund
(24%), Road & Bridge Fund (66%), Fire Protection Fund (6%) and
Cemetery/Landscaping Fund (4%).
- Motion by Dave
Fornengo, second by Jason Fornengo, to have cemetery fencing done by township
employees. Carried (3-0).
- Continued
discussion of Squib Creek Drive- Don and Deloris Schirmer again requested that
Squib Creek Drive be extended to the East for one-half mile and that a
cul-de-sac be placed at the end of it.
Mr. Schirmer also said that the property owner down from Squib Creek
Drive is entitled to access. Chair
Fornengo said the Board would research Squib Creek Drive, do some measuring,
determine where it ends and further discuss the issue at the June meeting.
