NEW DOSEY TOWNSHIP ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES – MARCH 9TH, 2021

Meeting called to order at 8:15PM by Fran Levings. Also present were Dave Fornengo, Dave Baker, Anthony Fornengo, Wayne Hessler, Beverly Carlin, Tamara Miritello, and John Nelson.

Head Judge Beverly Carlin read the results of the Board of Canvas.  Dave Fornengo received 9 votes for a 3 – year term as Supervisor and was declared elected to a 3 – year term as Supervisor. Wayne Hessler received 9 votes for a 2-year term as Treasurer as was declared elected to a 2-year term as Treasurer.

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to have Fran Levings be the moderator. Carried

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the Agenda. Carried.

Motion by AJ Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to approve the Minutes of the 2020 Annual Meeting. Carried

Motion by AJ Fornengo, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the Board of Audit Report. Carried

Motion by AJ Fornengo, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Carried

Dave Fornengo, Dave Baker and AJ Fornengo agreed to wait to see how 2021 Spring goes before review for the Summer season roadwork plan.  Since roadside brushing was not in the budget in 2020, we would like to see if we can fit that in for this season as well. We have received positive feedback on road management for the 2020 year.

Dave Baker, Representative to the Tri-Township Disposal District Board, explained that the Board had $1.12 left from the budget.  The Board has been working with Pine County to come up with a way to funds to the budget as they would like to give the two employees a raise.  To do so, they are anticipating a raise on all improved parcels on 2021 tax statements.

    1. Educational Loan to student – 3-year online course to become a Psychiatric Nurse $21,00.00 ($7,000.00/year)
    1. Essentia- Sandstone – $7,650.00 (Improve the grounds)
  3. February meeting – Ambulance Director was a Guest Speaker – Part of the discussion concerned was the response time for ambulances to come on a call to Eastern Pine County. Mr. Newton said “is it cost prohibitive to place an ambulance out here”.  He said “they responded to about 15,000 calls in 2020 and only 1500 of them were for Eastern Pine County (Most at Lake Lena). First responders and EMT’s are authorized to call in a helicopter and that will come from either Danbury or Webster, WI.

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to NOT raise the levy. Carried

Clerk Tammy presented requests for Contract for Services from Seven County Senior Federation and New Pathways. Motion by Beverly Carlin, second by Dave Baker. Carried

GENERAL DISCUSSION OF ITEMS OF CONCERN TO THE VOTERS:

  1. When will minutes be available on website – Clerk Tammy will get them done as soon as she is able but for sure by the next meeting.

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to continue to using the Pine County Courier, Askov American and Evergreen Shopper for township public notices. Carried

Motion by Beverly Carlin, second by Wayne Hessler, to continue using Northview Bank, Sandstone for the township depository. Carried

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Beverly Carlin, to hold the 2022 Township Annual Meeting on March 8th, 2022 @8:15pm. Carried

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Tamara Miritello, to adjourn at 9:12pm. Carried

MINUTES – NEW DOSEY TOWN BOARD REGUALAR MEETING – FEBRUARY 10TH 2021. 

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by Chair Dave Fornengo.  Also presents were the following: Supervisor’s Dave Baker & Anthony Fornengo, Treasurer Wayne Hessler, and Clerk Tamara Miritello.  Absent were Deputy Clerk Samantha Gardner and NPAHD Representative Fran Levings.

Motion by Dave Baker, second by Anthony Fornengo, to approve the minutes from January 13th, 2021 meeting. (Carried 3-0) 

Treasurer Wayne Hessler and Clerk Tamara Miritello were not able to balance February 2021 books as they are still learning the process on year end procedures. Will table until March 2021 meeting.   

Clerk Tamara Miritello prepared and presented the Claims and Payroll list for approval.

  1. Annual Meeting is Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at 8:15pmafter polls have closed.   
  1. Board of Re-Organization is Friday, March 19th, 2021 at 7:30PM 
  1. Social Distancing practices will be in place on Election Day – Masks, gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided if requested.
