MINUTES – NEW DOSEY TOWN BOARD REGUALAR MEETING – JUNE 13^th,2023.

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by Chair Dave Fornengo.  Also present were the following: Supervisor’s Jason Canesi & Anthony Fornengo, Clerk Tamara Miritello, and Treasurer Wayne Hessler.

John and Karen Mishler joined us from the community.

Pledge of Allegiance

PUBLIC IMPUT:

Karen was wanting information on the cemetery plots.  (We will contact her with that information with in the next week or two)

                Motion by Anthony Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi, to approve the June 13^th, 2023 agenda. (Carried 3-0)

                Motion by Jason Canesi, second by Anthony Fornengo, to approve the minutes from May 9^th, 2023 meeting. (Carried 3-0)

Treasurer’s Report and Cash Balance Statement – tabled (Carried 3-0)

                We have the go from the MN State Auditor to close out 2021 books.

            Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Anthony Fornengo to write off the difference between both systems. Wayne’s balance of -$1,034.86 and Tamara’s balance of $-337.46 the difference between both systems is $697.40. Ending balance in the bank on December 31^st, 2021 is $53,392.34. With the assistance of the office of MN State Auditor 2021 will be closed and can move forward on 2022.  (Carried 3-0)

Clerk Tamara Miritello prepared and presented the Claims and Payroll list for approval.

1. Township Legal Sept. 16^th, 2023 – Rutledge
2. Election update –
   1. Effective July 1^st, as long as a felon is not currently incarcerated, they can vote and people who are 16 & 17 years old, can pre-register to vote.
   1. Forms will be available at the townhall.
3. 2022 Population and Household Estimate
   1. Population Est. 77
   1. Household Est. 31
4. Thank you card from Seven County Senior Federation for the service contract donation for 2023. A note was added to contact them if anyone can use their service to help with Social Security or Medicare questions.
   1. County wants to know if we want to remain a mail in district. Board would like to stay the same and keep New Dosey Township as a mail in district.  

OLD BUISNESS

1. ROAD WORK
   1. A few culverts were added to road projects and a few extra loads of gravel to McDermott Creek Road.
2. Hire lawnmower
   1. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to hire Lidia Fornengo to mow the cemetery and townhall for the season of 2023. (Carried 3-0)

NEW BUSINESS

1. NPAHD Report –
2. Dave Fornengo has tried to get ahold of the property owner on McDermott Creek Road to see if the township could access their property to remove the beaver dam that has water blocked up that comes over the road. He has not heard back as of yet.
3. Old grader has been listed for sale $12,000.00

   1. County wants to know if we want to remain a mail in district. Board would like to stay the same and keep New Dosey Township as a mail in district.
5. Preliminary Damage assessment – April flood – we don’t have much to claim from April floods. All damage is from the December 2022 winter storm.

OLD BUISNESS

   1. Road Review under New Business
2. Grader update
   1. Sand in filter from previous owner. Had tank pulled and steamed out and it’s good to go. Dave will fix lights.
   1. Looking for a buyer for the old grader. Board is looking to list themselves for a few months, and if no offers, might ship to auction.
3. Plow Truck will have lights fixed this month.
4. Bridge deck was cleaned off and Dave Fornengo reported cracks in the deck that will need to be cleaned out and filled/sealed.

NEW BUSINESS

1. NPAHD Report – Robin Fornengo
   1. Dr. Witt – Admin from Moose Lake will be retiring soon
   1. Staffing improving
      1. 8FT doctors and 2 new general Surgeons will be moving to the area
   1. The Duluth Campus new additions include

3. Dave will make calls to see who can get started. Should be few days of trucking and spreading.  Work will be done on road use priority.

Creek View- fix washout- 4-5 loads of class 5.  Fix sign, need splice and bolts/nuts. 

Enderstrom – 1 load class 5 at wash out near Co RD 32

Loggers Lane-

School House- replace minimum maintenance sign, 4-6 loads class 5 at culvert in swap 1/4 mile west of 62965 to 62965.

  Little Ox- road side clearing, two loads class 5 east of 62009 at culvert.

Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi to approve the following Road Review (Carried 3-0)

• Clean up day at the New Dosey Cemetery – 9am May 20^th, 2023 @9am meet at the town hall.
• Wayne Hessler has been sworn in as New Dosey Treasurer.
• Hire Lawncare for 2023 season.
