  7. Two calls in regards to a dumpster in the Kingsdale area
    1. Complaints that the dumpster hasn’t been emptied since Nov.2022. Animals have now gotten into the dumpster and created a mess. Callers also, suggested that the dumpster be moved to the stop sign and second dumpster to be provided as more people are coming up to the area.

Response from the board – this should be taken directly to Tri-Township Disposal committee. Jeff Shute – 320-245-2768

Any disposal issues are handled through the Tri-Township committee and not the board. Our board representative did discuss this matter with the committee in the past meeting.

OLD BUISNESS –

Road Work

  1. Just waiting to see how the Spring thaw goes. With water rising, its unknown at this time what needs to be addressed.
    1. There are a few beaver issues that will need to be addressed.
    1. Red Maple Lane will need to be cleared out due to tree damage from the winter storm.  
    1. Road Review was set for April 29th, 2023 @ 8am.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. NPAHD Report – No report
  2. Fran Levings put in her resignation for the township representative to the North Pine Area Hospital District with a recommendation to appoint Robin Fornengo to fill vacancy.
    1. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi, to appoint Robin Fornengo to New Dosey Township Representative for the North Pine Area Hospital District. (Carried 3-0)
  3. TRI-TOWNSHIP Report- John Fornengo
    1. Truck has been paid off, and there is money in the account. There is 40,000 miles on the truck.
    1. John is looking for someone go to meetings.
  4. Motion by Dave Fornengo, second by Jason Canesi, to change New Dosey Township Regular Town Board meetings to the second Tuesdays of the month and at 6pm. (Carried 3-0)
  5. Pine County McDermott Creek Bridge 2022 Inspection report
    1. There is excess amount of gravel on the bridge deck that will hold water and allow the potential of water leaching onto the substructure of the bridge. There also was a note about previous inspection showed loose nuts and bolts that held the spreader beam.  And wanted verification this was done.
      1. Nuts and bolts have been tightened and the gravel will be removed this Spring.
  6. New Bank signature cards were filled out to send to the bank.
  7. MATIT Insurance sent a form showing Estimate coverage amounts to the township policy for period of July 1st, 2023- through June 30th, 2024.

MINUTES – NEW DOSEY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF RE-ORGANIZATION MEETING – MARCH 28th, 2023

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by Dave Fornengo. Present were Supervisor’s John Fornengo and Elected Jason Cansei, and Clerk Tamara Miritello. Absent were Wayne Hessler

Motion by John Fornengo, second by Dave Fornengo, to approve the agenda.

Jason Cansei took the Oath of Office for a 3-year term as Supervisor.

                Our accounts are running low and we have a check coming on Friday from Pine County for our gas tax that will be roughly $10,000.00. That will cover the next two months of bills and payroll. Treasurer Wayne has presented to the board to move money from Savings along with cashing in the current CD to hold us over until larger checks are deposited this coming summer. We also have filled with FEMA for reimbursement for cost that we have paid for storm damages over the December 13-15th,2023 time period.

CLERK’S REPORT

    1. Timecards and claims must be filled out by individual and signed in order for payment.  All forms must be submitted by Monday prior to meeting date. Clerk can no longer fill out timecards or claims for other individuals.
    1. Please cash claims and payroll checks within month that it has been written, this will help with our accounting process and was one of our issues with balancing in past years.
    1. Monthly minutes cannot be published before board approval.  They will be posted the night of the following meeting after board has approved.
    1. Credit card purchases prior to board approval needs a motion from the board.

  5. Pine County does well water testing as of March 8th, 2023.
    1. Residents desiring well water analysis are able to pickup sampling kits at the Pine County Planning and Zoning office located in Sandstone.  The test offered will be nitrates and E. coli. Additional parameters may be tested upon request. Sample kits can be picked up any time during business hours (M-F8am-4:30pm) Sample collection must occur no earlier than noon on Tuesdays and submitted to Zoning office by 4:30pm the same day. Results submitted directly to customer from the laboratory. Cost is $23.10/sample for E. Coli and $28.88 for Nitrates. Any questions contract Pine County Planning and Zoning Department @320-216-4220

OLD BUISNESS

  1. Road Work/snowplowing/private drives
    1. Grader was up and going with new parts.  However, the wing has a swivel bracket that looked like it had some welds done to it previously, but they didn’t replace the swivel bracket and the pin ended up snapping.  Dave has a it priced out at $250 for replacement.
    1. We do have someone interested in the old grader, but we are waiting for snow to clear to set up an appointment.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. We have fuel barrels that haven’t been utilized in a few years. Dave had someone interested one of the stand barrels, and the snowmobile club is interested in the ground one.  Dave would like to use the 3rd one for regular fuel for the plow truck to have on site.  There is a 300-gallon tank inside the shed for the grader, and we are inquiring to see what the fire department needs for their equipment.
  2. Annual meeting is March 14th, 2023 – Snowplowing will go onto the agenda as we have almost exhausted our funds for the year. We also need to address the amount of late sign ups.  We went from 15 driveways to over 30 just this season.
