CLERK’S REPORT;

1.      The plaque for engraving more names on our Honor Roll was dropped off at Superior Trophy.

2.      “Perpetual Care” letters for the New Dosey Cemetery were mailed to people who have loved ones buried there.

3.      Clerk will set a cemetery cleanup date and put it on the township website.

ZONING REPORT:

1.      Two land use permits have been issued- One to Al Wolf and one to Mike Luger.

OLD BUSINESS:

1.      Discussion of the road disc- Plans to use it in 2008 were not fulfilled.  Isssue will be re-considered at the May meeting.

2.      Dave Baker reported on a call from Greg Beck, Pine County Land Department, who said that Class 5 gravel would be available for the township in the county pit located in New Dosey Township at an estimated price of $1/yard.  Total cost after crushing is estimated at $3.15/yard.  Township could store the gravel in the pit indefinitely. Advantage of doing this would be that the Township would then have a gravel  pit in the western part of the township.  Motion by Don Mishler, second by Dave Fornengo, to order 1000 yards.

3.      Vicki Elliott said she would explore an inexpensive way to have the  townships name placed on the doors of the truck.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Dave Baker and Don Mishler gave brief reports on the Pine County Township Association meeting of Mar. 28.  Supervisor Baker said that Mark LeBrun, County Coordinator, said that no work will be done on the intersection of Hwys 32 and 24 this year.  He also said that we do no know the exact status of the proposed legislation from our township.

2.       Dave Fornengo notified the Board of a request from Ron Kern to have gravel put on the road leading to his garage.  This would mean designating his driveway as a town road.  Supervisors examined a plat map of the townsite and concurred that this driveway is indeed an extension of Coveau Lane to the south.  Dave Fornengo said he would assure that Mr. Kern understood that by doing this, the township would have road sign installed, the road would be added to our designated road list, and the public would be able to use it.  Chair Fornengo will report to the May meeting on this.

ANYTHING ELSE TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD:

1.      CARTWAY UPDATE- Supervisor Baker reported on a letter from Jim Warren, Wetlands Specialist, which stated that he will do a wetlands delineation and study for approximately $1725.00.  Motion by Dave Baker, second by Don Mishler, to ask the petitioners for an additional $1000.00 in bond payment. Carried.

2.       Clerk Levings said that Methven Funeral Home will be doing a burial in the cemetery lot they have purchased.
